What customers say?

“ The food is very well-served and seasoned, with excellent value for money! I ordered cod fritters as an appetizer and the pork ribs as a main course; my husband and I ate happily! The tutu de feijão (a type of bean stew) is sensational. I went on a Saturday and waited about 15 minutes to be seated; there was always someone waiting in line, but it moved quickly. Poleiro is a very old and well-known restaurant in CADEG. In terms of decor, it's quite different from the other restaurants, which are much more "modern." Everything is very simple: old plastic tables, unattractive tableware. Literally, you'll eat and be happy! ”

- Marcela Saboya -

“ Tradition is no joke. This restaurant is famous for its "bifão" (big steak) with egg farofa and ice-cold beer. A great option is the goat, which comes with rice, farofa, and boiled potatoes. Each meal easily serves two people, and the price is very reasonable. Don't expect much from the service, but it's worth the experience. I recommend it! ”

- Diego Ava -

“ I'm biased, because I love this bar! The stew is wonderful and generously served on Thursdays, the beer is ice cold, and the price is fair! It's a classic dive bar with the unique subtlety of the waiters! ”

- Daniela Tarta -

“ You can't go wrong. Sirloin steak with fries is just too good. I've been going there for years!!! The best steak at Cadeg. ”

- Luiz Felipe -

“ Is it still open? I haven't been there in ages!!! But it has the best egg farofa I've ever eaten in my life! ”

- Danielle Camargo -

“ Best steak with fries and farofa in Rio de Janeiro! The place is legendary and serves a sirloin steak with fries and farofa that, God forbid, is sensational! ”

- Rodrigo Rubini -

“ We went to enjoy the summer festival at Cadeg and chose the "Poleiro do Galeto" dish, which was smoked chicken with egg farofa, rice, house potatoes, and vinaigrette. Everything was very good, from the reception to the food and first-class service. The chicken was a generous portion, enough for two people to easily serve three. I recommend the restaurant. ”

- Mauricio Moreira -

“ I went last Friday after some time to eat the roast goat. The cod fritters were good, the draft beer needed to be colder, and the goat was okay to good, but the side dishes were very weak: tasteless white rice, dry farofa, and cold boiled potatoes. It lacks attention to detail; it's not about being sophisticated, just about being attentive! They could separate the side dishes better, add some cilantro or fried garlic, and serve it hot. ”
